Throughout their school years, Gary Wallace (John Asher), a cocky but cowardly misfit and his only friend, computer genius Wyatt Donnelly (Michael Manasseri), sweet, lovable and shy, have been the butt of heartless pranks. When they are humiliated by school bullies on the first day of a new semester, they decide to retaliate. That night, with the combination of Frankenstein on television, a fierce electrical storm raging outside, and some inexplicable electrical interference, Wyatt feeds into his computer their combined choice of statistics and succeeds in creating their "PC genie" named Lisa (Vanessa Angel), a smart and beautiful woman whose mission is to grant the two boys' wishes.

Terminal boredom overcomes Gary (John Asher) in history class, so he summons Lisa &(Vanessa Angel) and asks for her power to fast-forward life to the fun parts. She adapts the video remote to control time as though it were a video machine. Gary commandeers the remote to fast-forward his dates to the goodnight kiss. Then he meets Donna (Amy Leland), who likes him but talks a lot, so he fast-forwards her chatter. Meanwhile Wyatt (Michael Manasseri), who is tied into the wish with his friend, is jerked through time as Gary operates the remote at will.

Both the sexual education instructor and Principal Scampi (Bruce Jarchow) avoid Gary's (John Asher) pointed questions about lovemaking. So Lisa (Vanessa Angel) takes over the class with a one-week agenda. She zaps a four-poster bed into the classroom, splits them into male/female couples and tells them they will all be having sex at the week's end if they fulfill all the assignments and demonstrate that they understand the subject in a mature and responsible way. Gary is ecstatic, Wyatt (Michael Manasseri) is nervous.
