Cassie Yates

A character actress in the most well-known sense of the word, Cassie Yates appeared in dozens of television shows throughout the '70s, '80s and '90s, never really playing a memorable role but always delivering solid support. The Georgia native was working in a hair salon in Atlanta when she decided to pack her bags for Hollywood. One of the first jobs she landed was in 1975 as Officer Hazel McNulty on a couple of episodes of the medical drama "Marcus Welby, M.D.." With her career off and running, Yates stayed busy for the next 20 years working on crime shows such as "The Streets of San Francisco," "Barnaby Jones," "Simon & Simon," and "Murder, She Wrote." Yates played the recurring character of Sarah Curtis on the 1987 season of "Dynasty" and co-starred as Detective Jennifer Dempsey in the 1980 sitcom "Nobody's Perfect." The wacky buddy comedy may have been her chance to come out of the shadows of smaller roles but the show was pulled off the air after eight episodes. Yates also worked occasionally on the big screen, most notably with Sylvester Stallone, Rod Steiger, and Peter Boyle in the 1978 teamster drama "F.I.S.T.." Her last television appearance was in 1995 on "The Drew Carey Show."
