Casey Cott

Introduced to audiences at large as the character Kevin Keller on the series "Riverdale" (CW, 2017-), Casey Cott first took an interest in acting in high school. Cott's two siblings were both participating in the school musical, and though Cott had no interest in the extracurricular activity, his mother was so intent on all three of her children participating that she offered Cott $50 to audition. Taking her up on the offer, Cott was surprised to discover a love of performing. When it came time for him to think about college, Cott was determined to follow in the footsteps of his brother, Broadway and TV actor Corey Cott, in attending Carnegie Mellon University. Though he was initially rejected by the school, he eventually transferred there after two years at Boston University. Cott appeared in a production of "Parade" at the New Hazlett Theater in Pittsburgh while attending school, and moved to New York after graduating. He landed a prominent stage role in 2016 when he was cast as Moses in the Bay Street Theater and DreamWorks Theatricals one night "Prince of Egypt" concert scheduled to perform in Sag Harbor, New York in 2016, but the show was ultimately cancelled after its casting drew harsh criticism for "whitewashing" characters of color. Cott's big break came later that same year however, when he joined the cast of "Riverdale," a grittier, modern reimagining of the long running Archie comic book series.
