Cas Anvar

Cas Anvar is a Canadian-born character actor working in television, film, and theater. A graduate of Montreal's National Theatre School, Anvar has long been dedicated to the stage, founding the Repercussion Theatre, known for its Shakespeare-in-the-Park productions in Montreal in the late 1980s. He began working in TV in the early 1990s, mainly in smaller roles, shooting numerous productions in Montreal, his adopted hometown. He has steadily found supporting work in TV ever since, ranging from obscure Canadian shows to an episode of "24" in 2009. After a series of modest supporting appearances in movies over the second half of the 1990s, in 2000 Anvar co-starred in the romance "Seducing Maarya," about East Indians attempting to find a new life in Canada. In 2003, he had a supporting part in the drama "Shattered Glass," which dramatized the life of journalist Stephen Glass, who was caught red-handed fabricating articles. From there Anvar managed to land several mainstream Hollywood gigs, from a bit part in the 2004 airport comedy, "The Terminal," to a substantial supporting role in the 2011 sci-fi thriller "Source Code," much of which was shot in Montreal. Anvar's other projects from 2011 included a part in the John Cusack crime-thriller "The Factory" and a role as Gentleman Starkey in the epic adventure TV movie "Neverland."
