Carly Pearce
Carly Pearce is an American country music singer. She was raised in Taylor Mill, Ky. When she was 16, she dropped out of school and moved to Pigeon Forge, Tenn., and began performing as a singer at Dollywood. During this time, she also contributed to several bluegrass albums. Three years later, at the age of 19, she moved to Nashville, and in 2012 she signed a development deal with Sony Music Nashville. Ultimately, no releases came from this deal, but her vocal talents were clearly attracting a lot of notice, and she continued to work steadily. Among other activities, she was a featured vocalist on the song "Wasn't That Drunk," by the Josh Abbott Band, and toured with the band. This led her to begin working with songwriter and producer Busbee, and the two of them produced her debut single, "Every Little Thing," which came out in 2017. Thanks to heavy airplay on Sirius XM's "The Highway" channel and much listener interest, Pearce signed a contract with Big Machine Records. Big Machine officially released the single in February 2017, and in October 2017, her debut album, also entitled "Every Little Thing," was released. The album was a hit, peaking at No. 4 on the Billboard U.S. Country chart and going as high as No. 32 on the Billboard 200 chart. Meanwhile, the single "Every Little Thing" was also a huge hit, going to No. 1 on the U.S. Country Airplay chart and selling over 500K copies. The song also peaked at No. 5 on the U.S. Country chart and at No. 50 on the Hot 100 chart. Her follow-up single, "Hide the Wine," was accompanied by a music video directed by Shaun Silva, and it was announced that in 2018 Pearce would tour as an opening act for Blake Shelton's Country Music Freaks tour, in addition to planning upcoming gigs with Rascal Flatts and other artists, proving that Pearce's vocal talents and the grit and honesty of her songs would continue to take her far.
