Carlos Gomez
Born in New York but raised in Miami, Carlos Gomez moved back to the Big Apple at age 19, where he began pursuing a professional acting career. His first big break came to him thanks to his unusual skills as a breakdancer when he was cast as Slammer in the dance film "City Rhythms" (1989). He would remain an in-demand working actor, memorably appearing as the "Right Hand" of the villain Bucho in "Desperado" (1995), and playing Paramedic Raul Melendez in a six episode arc on the medical drama "ER" (NBC, 1994-2009). Gomez appeared in movies like "The Peacemaker" (1997) and "Enemy of the State" (1998), while simultaneously taking on recurring TV roles like Mayor Manuel Delgado on the series "Shark" (CBS, 2006-08). Then in 2008, Gomez used his skills as a singer and dancer to originate the role of Kevin Rosario in the hit Lin Manuel-Miranda Broadway musical "In The Heights." After ending his run with the show, Gomez returned to television, starring as Carlos Sanchez on the popular show "The Glades" (A&E, 2010-13) before moving on to the political drama "Madam Secretary" (CBS, 2014-) and the procedural "Law & Order: True Crime" (NBC, 2017-).
