Callan McAuliffe

An Australian teen actor who ascended from guest spots on television in his native country to starring roles in major Hollywood films in just a few years, Callan McAuliffe made his screen debut in 2007, when he was just 12 years old. Becoming a recurring player on the Australian sketch series "Comedy Inc.," McAuliffe appeared on four episodes during the show's fifth and final season. Following the popular program's end, the young actor next surfaced on the TV shows "Blue Water High," a teen surfing drama, and "Packed to the Rafters," a family comedy. In addition to his work in those series, he also acted in the indie short "Franswa Sharl" before making his feature film debut with a supporting part in the Aussie crime comedy "1MC: Something of Vengeance." With just those few credits to his name, he then made the jump to the United States, landing a starring part in veteran director Rob Reiner's 2010 period romance, "Flipped." The coming of age movie proved to be a turning point for McAuliffe, as he next received a considerable amount of screen time in the slick sci-fi effort "I Am Number For," a film notable for being produced by Hollywood heavyweight Michael Bay. McAuliffe was also back working in Australian television in 2011, receiving a role in the suburban family drama "Cloudstreet," a mini-series.
