Buddy Baer

Buddy Baer rose to fame as an actor, gracing the silver screen many times over the course of his Hollywood career. Early on in his acting career, Baer landed roles in various films, including "Africa Screams" (1949) with Bud Abbott, the historical feature "Quo Vadis" (1951) with Robert Taylor and "Two Tickets to Broadway" (1951). He also appeared in "Flame of Araby" (1952) with Maureen O'Hara. He continued to act in productions like the comedy "Jack and the Beanstalk" (1952) with Bud Abbott, the adventure "The Big Sky" (1952) with Kirk Douglas and the comedy "Dream Wife" (1953) with Cary Grant. He also appeared in the Fred MacMurray adventurous drama "Fair Wind to Java" (1953). In the latter half of his career, he continued to act in the comedy "Once Upon a Horse" (1958) with Dan Rowan, "Snow White and the Three Stooges" (1961) and the Chuck Connors adaptation "Ride Beyond Vengeance" (1966). He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "Tales of the Vikings" (1960-61). Baer more recently worked on "The New Mickey Mouse Club" (1976-77). Baer passed away in July 1986 at the age of 71.
