Buck Owens

Buck Owens was a musician and actor who had a successful Hollywood career. He was a regular on the variety show "Hee Haw" (CBS, 1968-1997), along with Roy Clark and musical guests such as Grandpa Jones, Minnie Pearl, Roy Acuff and Archie Campbell. Owens appeared in the TV movie "Murder Can Hurt You!" (ABC, 1979-1980). He had an early role on the television special "Dean Martin's Christmas at Sea World" (NBC, 1981-82). In the nineties, Owens devoted his time to various credits, such as "Bakersfield Country!" (PBS, 1993-94), "The 29th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards" (NBC, 1993-94) and "The Beverly Hillbillies" (1993) starring Diedrich Bader. He also worked on "Chasers" with Tom Berenger (1994). Owens was a talented musician whose work was featured in the Denzel Washington box office smash dramatic sports film "Remember the Titans" (2000), the Arye Gross comedic drama "Big Eden" (2001) and the action-packed comedy "Jackass: The Movie" (2002) with Johnny Knoxville. His music was also featured in "The Devil's Rejects" (2005) with Sid Haig. Owens was credited in the dramatic adaptation "A Walk in the Woods" (2015) with Robert Redford, "My All American" (2015) and "Ford v Ferrari" (2019). Buck Owens passed away in March 2006 at the age of 77.
