Brooklynn Proulx
Beginning her career with a portrayal of Paris Jackson, daughter of the late pop icon Michael Jackson, in the television movie "Man in the Mirror: The Michael Jackson Story," Canadian-born Brooklynn Proulx has become one of the most notable child actors in the industry. In her theatrical debut, she played the 4-year-old Jenny, daughter of Ennis Del Mar (Heath Ledger) in the 2005 western romance "Brokeback Mountain." The controversial adaptation of Annie Proulx's 1997 short story became one of the most talked about films of 2005, earning its director (Ang Lee) an Academy Award. She was featured in a very different kind of western in 2007, when she played Mary James, daughter of the legendary outlaw Jesse James, in Andrew Dominik's "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford." In the years since her debut, she's appeared in a number of other television and theatrical productions, including the 2006 mountain-climbing drama "Touch the Top of the World," and played the younger version of Rachel McAdams's character, Clare Abshire, in "The Time Traveler's Wife." 2010 brought her roles in several higher-profile features, including the all-star romantic comedy "Valentine's Day," and the irreverent B-movie throwback "Piranha," in which she played Laura Forester, younger sister of the main character, Jake Forester (Steven R. McQueen).
