Brian Davis
A country-pop songwriter and singer, Brian Davis grew up in the small rural town of Bilboa, North Carolina, and by the time he was eight, he was the guitar tuner for his father and grandfather, both of whom were regional honky tonkers. Davis moved to Nashville when he was 24 to pursue his dream of being a professional songwriter and performer, and legendary Nashville songwriter Harlan Howard took him under his wing, offering Davis a publishing deal with a weekly retainer. Davis refined his writing, developing a rock-tinged, contemporary country style that left room for both party anthem stompers and tender ballads. After meeting then-up-and-coming country singer and songwriter Brantley Gilbert, Davis began co-writing with him, and Gilbert took Davis out on the road as an opening act. With six independent albums under his belt, including 2005's One Good Beer, 2008's Bd III, 2010's Pull Up the Tailgate, and 2012's Under the Influence, Davis began to draw considerable attention, both from fans and from the movers and shakers of Nashville's flourishing country music scene. In 2017, he delivered the EP Raise 'Em Up Right Now. ~ Steve Leggett, Rovi
