As Valentine's Day approaches, Axl and partners Sean and Darrin (recurring guest stars BEAU WIRICK and JOHN GAMMON) take Boss Co. to the next level by offering their services to help guys break up with their girlfriends. Meanwhile, Brick becomes upset with Frankie when he discovers that she has thrown out all of the school artwork he has made over the years, Sue is thrilled when ex-boyfriend Matt invites her to the school's Valentine's Day dance, and Mike accidentally sends a romantic text meant for Frankie to a co-worker at the quarry.

A joyous reunion between Hanna and her mother is cut short when "A" sets sights on a new target. And Toby uncovers some surprising information about Wren.

Jane (Gina Rodriguez) considers making a life-changing decision about her and Michael's (Brett Dier) relationship. Alba (Ivonne Coll) is disappointed in Xo's (Andrea Navedo) handling of Rogelio (Jaime Camil), so Alba takes it into her own hands to stop Rogelio from trying to see Jane. When Jane (Gina Rodriguez) and Rafael (Justin Baldoni) receive news about their baby's health, they revisit moving in together which prompts a surprise from Rafael. Alba (Ivonne Coll) gives Jane and Xo (Andrea Navedo) relationship advice that they both take to heart, but which leads them to unexpected friction with Rafael and Rogelio (Jaime Camil.) Meanwhile, Petra (Yael Grobglas) finds herself with an unexpected ally. Michael (Brett Dier) tells Jane that her favorite literary idol is staying at the Marbella and Jane is determined to get her own book into her hands.

While Rafael is sulking over losing Jane, he is ignoring Petra (Yael Grobglas) and her pregnancy needs. Xo (Andrea Navedo) and Rogelio (Jamie Camil) have broken up over the baby issues, but they are still acting like a couple, something Jane sees as a problem. Rogelio hires a new assistant, Paolo (guest star Ana De la Reguera), who appears too good to be true. Ivonne Coll also guest stars.
