Brandi Cyrus
Blogger and television star Brandi Cyrus skillfully established her own media identity outside of her singer/actress half-sister, Miley Cyrus, through popular fashion blogging and participation in reality series like "Cyrus vs. Cyrus: Design and Conquer" (Bravo, 2017-). Born Brandi Glenn Helson in Nashville, Tennessee she was one of two children by Baxter Helson and Leticia Jean "Tish" Finley, who would later marry country singer and actor Billy Ray Cyrus in 1993. Both Brandi and her brother Trace, who would go on to front the pop-rock band Metro Station, were adopted by Cyrus, and took on their stepfather's surname for their own. While her half-sister, Miley, rose swiftly from teenaged television star to pop singer, Brandi crafted a different career path: she made occasional appearances opposite Miley on "Hannah Montana" (Disney Channel, 2006-2011) and other Disney Channel programs, but subsequently focused her interest on blogging about fashion and design, with occasional forays into music as a DJ and guitarist for the band Frank + Derol. While cultivating an audience of more than a half million Twitter followers, Cyrus began appearing in reality-based television projects involving her family in 2013, and briefly hosted her own fashion review and talk series, "Brandiville," that same year. In 2017, she teamed with her mother Tish Cyrus to star in "Cyrus vs. Cyrus: Design and Conquer," a design series in which the pair took on a variety of home and room design challenges.
