Blake Soper
Actor and musician Blake Soper is best known for his work on "Salute Your Shorts" and as the lead guitarist of the indie band Rilo Kiley. Born in San Diego, Soper attended La Jolla Country Day School and started his career as an actor in 1987 on an episode of the religious series "Highway to Heaven." He appeared therafter on numerous sitcoms including "Family Ties," "My Two Dads," "The Wonder Years" before scoring one of his most notable parts, Ronnie Pinsky, on the Nickelodeon summer-camp comedy "Salute Your Shorts." Two years later he appeared in his best-known role, as Joey the Rat on the teen series "Boy Meets World." He appeared in 16 episodes from 1994 to 1998. In 1996, he composed the score for the film "Don's Plum," which starred Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, and Jenny Lewis. Two years later, while continuing to act, Soper formed Rilo Kiley with Lewis, whom he had also dated for some time. Although Soper focused primarily on music since forming Rilo Kiley, he also appeared sporadically on television and, in 2009, wrote and directed the short film "Water Pills" which starred Winona Ryder.
