Billy Vera

Actor-musician Billy Vera made a splash in Hollywood both on and off-screen for more than two decades. Vera's early acting career mostly consisted of roles in various films, such as the Peter Weller comedic fantasy "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai: Across the 8th Dimension" (1984) and "Blind Date" (1987) with Kim Basinger. He had a part on the television special "A Soul Session: James Brown & Friends" (Cinemax, 1986-87). He also appeared in the TV movie "Tonight's the Night" (ABC, 1986-87). Vera also contributed music to the Louis Gossett Jr. action flick "Iron Eagle II" (1988). In the eighties and the nineties, Vera devoted his time to various credits, such as "The Accused" with Jodie Foster (1988), "Ragin' Cajun" with Samantha Eggar (1990) and "Late For Dinner" with Brian Wimmer (1991). Vera had a number of different projects under his belt in the nineties and the early 2000s, including "Ride With the Wind" (ABC, 1993-94), "Disney's Greatest Hits on Ice" (CBS, 1994-95) and "Duets" (2000). His credits also expanded to "Jack the Dog" (2002) starring Nestor Carbonell. Vera most recently appeared on the documentary "'Tis Autumn: The Search for Jackie Paris" (2007) with Peter Bogdanovich.
