Bart Baker
Social media star and parody artist Bart Baker falls somewhere between Weird Al and the Lonely Island with his precision mimicry and irreverent lyrics. The Chicago native went to film school at the University of Miami, which would later help with the video production that would make him a popular act on social media. His first video, "Look Into My Eyes While I Masturbate," was an original, but soon after he delved headlong into parodying popular hits from acts like Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, the Weeknd, Bruno Mars, One Direction, Ed Sheeran, and Rae Sremmurd. Baker collected his songs into two Greatest Hits compilations in 2013 and 2014. That year, he had accumulated a billion streaming views; by 2017, he had topped two billion. His first effort of original material was issued in March 2017. Celebritease featured eight distinct tracks named after musicians like "Drake," "Taylor Swift," and "Calvin Harris," with the sound and vocal delivery of each song a clever copy of their inspirations. ~ Neil Z.
