Barbara Stuart
Barbara Stuart is a character actress who has appeared in nearly 100 different TV shows as well as a handful of films, over a career that's spanned more than 50 years. Stuart may be familiar to some television viewers as Bunny Wilson, the blond girlfriend of Sgt. Vince Carter, on the 1960s comedy "Gomer Pyle, United StatesM.C. ." Others may recognize her from a part two decades later as Mrs. Thompson, the mother of the fiancé in the Tom Hanks-starring romantic comedy "Bachelor Party," from 1984. Stuart has had multi-episode appearances in every decade since the 1950s, starting with one of her earliest roles, as Bessie, the main character's secretary on the obscure comedy "The Great Gildersleeve" in 1955. Prior to her stint on "Gomer Pyle, United StatesM.C.," she appeared on nine episodes of the comedy "Pete and Gladys" in 1960 and '61. In the '70s, along with appearances on such disparate shows as the drama "Love, American Style" in 1971 and the vintage cop drama "Starsky and Hutch" in 1979, Stuart could be seen on all 11 episodes of the single-season comedy "The McLean Stevenson Show." After a busy decade of acting in the '80s, and then a bit of a lull in the '90s, in the 2000s, Stuart secured another multi-episode part in 2004, on the Showtime comedy "Huff," which lasted through 2006.
