Barbara Read
Barbara Read was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. Read kickstarted her acting career in various films such as the dramatic adaptation "Make Way For Tomorrow" (1937) with Victor Moore, the Bert Lahr comedy "Merry-Go-Round of 1938" (1937) and the Lewis Stone crime picture "The Man Who Cried Wolf" (1937). She also appeared in "The Mighty Treve" (1937). Her passion for acting continued to her roles in projects like the drama "The Road Back" (1937) with John King, the musical comedy "Three Smart Girls" (1937) with Deanna Durbin and "Behind the Mask" (1946). Film continued to be her passion as she played roles in "The Missing Lady" (1946), the mystery "The Shadow Returns" (1946) with Kane Richmond and the western "Coroner Creek" (1948) with Randolph Scott. Read more recently wrote "Santabear's First Christmas" (ABC, 1986-87).
