Alvin Childress
Alvin Childress was an accomplished actor who led an impressive career, primarily on the big screen. Childress began his career with roles in the Eartha Kitt dramatic adaptation "Anna Lucasta" (1958), the Alan Ladd dramatic adaptation "The Man in the Net" (1959) and "Banyon" (NBC, 1970-71). He then acted in the Clint Eastwood comedic drama "Thunderbolt And Lightfoot" (1974), the comedy "Darktown Strutters" (1975) with Trina Parks and "Eleanor and Franklin" (1975-76). He also appeared in "The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings" (1976) with Billy Dee Williams, "The Main Event" (1979) and the comedy "Cheech & Chong's Next Movie" (1980) with Cheech Marin. Later in his career, Childress appeared in "Sister, Sister" (NBC, 1981-82). Childress passed away in April 1986 at the age of 79.
