Alice Joyce

Serene, ladylike silent film star, whose career peaked in the late 1910s. Mostly a sophisticated dramatic star, she began acting c1910 and retired in the early 1930s after making several unremarkable talkies. One of her great latter-day successes was as Clara Bow's mother in the classic "Dancing Mothers" (1926).
