Alice Amter
Alice Amter is best known for her role on the dorky sitcom "The Big Bang Theory" as Mrs. Koothrappali, mother to Raj, who along with her husband is a devoted fan of Doogie Howser. Despite the character, however, Amter is not Indian; her racially ambiguous appearance and multicultural heritage have helped her land roles of all types, earning her the nickname "The Chameleon." In addition to numerous guest roles in high-profile television series including "ER" and the sitcom "Outsourced," Amter has also landed supporting parts opposite big Hollywood names such as Denzel Washington ("A Man Apart," 2003) and Jennifer Aniston ("The Good Girl," 2002).
