Alexz Johnson
Actress and singer Alexz Johnson comes from a family of 10 children, several of whom are also creative. She showed an interest in singing at a young age, and by the time she was seven, was performing at various events. At age 11, she won a contest for her rendition of the Canadian National Anthem, which thrust her into the spotlight. That same year, she joined an acting agency and in 2000, she got her big break. Disney was seeking a young actress also able to sing to lead the last season of the family adventure "So Weird." After one audition, she had the part. When the show ended in 2001, she went back to concentrating on her music career, but returned to acting in a big way in 2004. She appeared that year in five different TV series, including "The Chris Isaak Show," "Cold Squad," and in her next major recurring role, on the program "Instant Star." Her portrayal of Jude Harrison, a girl who is thrust into the limelight after winning a talent contest, was the perfect fit for the multi-talented Johnson, as it allowed her to act as well as perform her own songs. In 2006, she departed from her usual clean-cut image in her second film role, to play an ill-fated goth-girl in the horror film "Final Destination 3." She has since appeared on "Smallville," crime drama "The Listener," and the fantasy "Haven."
