Alexandra Purvis

This Canadian actress began performing when she was a child, appearing in her first film at the age of six, although during her adult years the roles appear to have been more few and far between. The doe-eyed star appeared in a string of TV movies as a young child but found fame at the age of eight in the TV series "Poltergeist: The Legacy." The show, which ran for 87 episodes and eventually finished in 1999, saw Purvis playing Kat Corrigan, daughter of psychiatrist Rachel Corrigan (Helen Shaver), who was a member of a secret society aiming to protect the world against evil. Purvis comes from an acting family: her younger sister Keely is also an actress who has appeared in"X-Men 2" and also starred with Alexandra in the 2000 drama "Marine Life." After the conclusion of "Poltergeist: The Legacy," Purvis was seen in a number of minor roles in TV and big-screen projects including "The Santa Clause 2" and the revived version of "The Twilight Zone." However, the actress has not been seen on the screen since her appearance in the 2003 junior spy caper "Agent Cody Banks," which starred another child actor, Frankie Muniz.
