Alex Zahara

Alex Zahara is equally at home as a traditional actor or a voice-over artist. Born in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Zahara won a college scholarship for his direction of a stage version of "M.A.S.H.." He wound up attending two colleges, the University of Alberta and the University of British Columbia, where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Theatre. Zahara's professional acting career began in the late 1990s, with one-off roles in such television crime dramas as "Viper" and "The Sentinel," and a bit part in the action adventure film featuring Antonio Banderas, "The 13th Warrior." Zahara earned modest attention and accolades for his acting skills, earning a Leo Award nomination ("Best Performance by a Male in a Short Drama") for 2000's "Evirati." Further roles soon came his way, generally one-off spots in various series, but also a recurring part on the post-apocalyptic drama "Jeremiah" and multiple guest spots on the science fiction action saga "Stargate SG-1." He made another foray into the sci-fi genre with a role in the apocalyptic TV movie "Earth's Final Hours." Zahara has also performed voices for such productions as the anime series "Mobile Suit Gundam 00" and the video game "Dead Rising 2." In addition to his busy schedule (often performing in several projects per year), Zahara teaches Acting for Teens classes at the Vancouver Film School.
