Adrienne Warren

Actress Adrienne Warren vaulted quickly from her Broadway debut in "Bring It On" (2012) to Tony nominee in the critically acclaimed "Shuffle Along" in 2016. Warren began her professional career shortly after graduating from Marymount Manhattan College in 2009 with an appearance in the Encores! Summer Stars production of "The Wiz." She followed this with a co-starring role in a 2009 touring production of "Dreamgirls," after which she was cast in the musical version of "Bring It On" during its premiere run in Atlanta in 2011. Warren remained with the show throughout its national tour that same year, which debuted on Broadway in 2012. Warren then enjoyed a spate of Roles on high-profile television series, including a tough, wheelchair-bound teenager on "Orange is the New Black" (Netflix, 2013-) before returning to Broadway in "Shuffle Along, or, the Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed" (2016). For her performance in a dual role - as singers Gertrude Saunders and the celebrated Florence Mills - Warren received a Tony nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical.
