Adrienne King

Though best remembered by an ardent cult fans of the horror franchise "Friday the 13th" for her part in the first two films, the bulk of actress Adrienne King's career has been spent as a vocal actress looping others' dialogue. Making her commercial debut at six months old in a commercial for Ivory soap, King also appeared Sammy Davis Jr. in a 7-Up ad and had many bit parts throughought the 1970s, including dancing opposite John Travolta in the 1977 hit "Saturday Night Fever." As camp counselor Alice Hardy in the 1980 slasher film "Friday the 13th" (chosen instead of Oscar-winning actress Sally Field), she joined the ranks of '80s horror films legendary so-called "scream queens." She reprised her part in the next year's sequel, but after an obsessive fan stalked her for nearly a year she quit screen acting and moved to London to study acting. Returning hom in 1984, she began working as a voice-over artist for primetime soap opera "Melrose Place," a job she held for seven years. Along with her looping work, King and her husband sell a line of wines under the label Crystal Lake Wines, named after the main setting of "Friday the 13th."
