Adam Savage

Blessed with a creative streak and an aptitude for working with his hands, Adam Savage began his career onscreen as a child. Savage's father, Whitney, was an artist and filmmaker, and produced animated shorts for the children's series "Sesame Street" (PBS 1969-). Savage began providing voice acting for the pieces as a small boy and went on to take acting classes. At the age of 18, he appeared in the music video for the Billy Joel song "You're Only Human (Second Wind)." Eventually, however, Savage discovered that he was more interested in other aspects of filmmaking. He began working in the model making industry, working on films like "Home Alone 3" (1997) and "Star Wars: Episode One - The Phantom Menace" (1999). In 2003, Savage got the chance to use his behind-the-scenes knowledge in a new setting as a host on the series "MythBusters" (Discovery Channel, 2003-16). Putting urban legends and popular misconceptions to the scientific test using fun and often strange practical simulations, Savage and his partner Jamie Hyneman racked up a number of Emmy nominations for Best Reality Series.
