Raised in South Africa and Zimbabwe, hunky British actor Adam Croasdell rose to prominence after scoring the role of Dr. Al Jenkins in the BBC soap opera "EastEnders," which he played from 2009 to 2010. Prior to this major role, Croasdell enjoyed a prolific but subdued run of film and television roles. His first gig was a small part in the miniseries "Natural Rhythm" in 1997, and in 2001 he appeared on numerous episodes of the comedy series "Smack the Pony." The following year he found himself on an episode of the long-running firefighter drama "London's Burning." In 2003 he played the famous painter Michelangelo in the television biopic "Leonardo," and in 2006 he played a supporting role in the thriller "True True Lie," while in 2008 he starred in the romantic comedy "The Prince & Me 3: A Royal Honeymoon." Croasdell guest starred in the CW fantasy-drama series "Supernatural," portraying the Norse god Baldur during the show's fifth season in an episode entitled "Hammer of the Gods." He is also a passionate activist, serving as a spokesperson for the not-for-profit charity See the Difference (fellow spokespeople include Daniel Craig, Stephen Fry, and Matt Dillon) and campaigning on behalf of the organization MapAction during the 2011 tsunami disaster in Japan.
