In 1982, 20-year-old American trumpeter Wynton Marsalis performed straight-ahead jazz at the North Sea Jazz Festival in The Hague with his quintet of saxophonist Branford Marsalis, drummer Jeff Watts, bassist Phil Bauer, and pianist Kenny Kirkland.
