Women Who Rock - Rock Legends

In the '60s, artists such as Grace Slick and Janis Joplin, were fronting A-list bands. Garage rock, all girl bands sprang up across the US in the 1960s and were playing rock 'n' roll on their own terms whilst breaking new ground. As rock developed in the late 1960s and 1970s alongside the women’s liberation movement, women refused to be just the pretty singer fronting a group.
