Trouble Along the Way

John Wayne stars with fellow Academy Award winner Donna Reed as a football coach who, while turning a squad of losers into winners, finds nothing but Trouble Along the Way. Difficult, out-of-work football coach Steve Aloysius Williams needs to find a job or risk losing custody of his daughter. Father Burke (Charles Coburn), rector of financially struggling St. Anthony's, needs a winning football season to save the college. Now, somehow, these two--with the help of social worker Alice Singleton (Reed)--will have to find a way to work together in this heartwarming romantic comedy.
