Tinder: A Predators' Playground
Dating apps have revolutionised the way that we find love – but are they also putting us in grave danger? Tinder has been downloaded more than 100 million times worldwide. It’s reinvented the way we meet people. And it generates enormous revenue for its parent company Match Group. Billed as ‘the largest, hottest community of singles in the world’, the app cheerfully urges users, ‘when in doubt, give a swipe right. Trust us, the more options you have, the better-looking life becomes’. But there’s alarming evidence that the app has an ugly side, and is putting users at great risk. In this documentary, a deeply troubling pattern of sexual assault and rape facilitated by the use of Tinder is uncovered, as women detail their harrowing experiences with the predators who use the app as a hunting ground for new victims.
