The West-Eastern Divan Orchestra & Daniel Barenboim live from Ramallah

Watch Daniel Barenboim’s internationally acclaimed West-Eatsern Divan Orchestra play for peace in Ramallah, Palestine. Founded by Daniel Barenboim and Edward Said, The West-Eastern Divan Orchestra consists of young, highly talented Israeli and Arabic musicians. Together they are working to form a peaceful dialogue between the cultures of the Middle East through the experience of playing music together. Before this historic 2005 concert, it was unthinkable that such an orchestra could play in Ramallah. The West-Eastern Divan Orchestra overcame the impossible, and the live concert attracted worldwide acclaim reaching far beyond the musical community.
