In the 1980s, The Smiths shattered the musical landscape with a startling sound unlike any other at the time. With the four albums they released, they inspired a whole new generation of musicians. formed The Smiths. A name specifically chosen for being ordinary. Signing to indie label, Rough Trade, the new group released their first single, 'Hand in Glove' in May 1983. The Smiths disbanded upon the release of their final album, 'Strangeways, Here We Come'.
