The Rose Maker
Eve Vernet (Catherine Frot) is an artisanal horticulturalist who honors her father by continuing the family legacy: breeding unique roses that are showcased all over France. But Eve struggles to compete with the production of her corporate rival Lamarzelle (Vincent Dedienne) and Vernet Roses is facing bankruptcy. In a desperate attempt to save the business, Eve’s trusted secretary, Vera (Olivia Côte), hires three new workers from a prison rehabilitation program: outcasts with a strong work ethic and absolutely no gardening experience. Eve and her new team of misfits soon discover unexpected sources of inspiration and personal connection in this colorful and touching comedy that is “a reminder that glimpsing beauty is reason enough.” (THE NEW YORK TIMES)
