The Prince and the Pauper
Based on the classic story by Mark Twain. While begging for alms near the royal palace one day, young ragamuffin Tom and the Prince of Wales come face to face and realize to their amazement that their faces are absolutely, indisputably identical! Deciding to have a little look-alike fun, the boys swap clothes... and identities. But when the masquerade works a bit too well, the real prince is thrown out of the palace and an astonished Tom suddenly finds himself about to be made the monarch of the realm. With the help of some clever palace courtiers including a talking pen, a comical crown and a pair of wisecracking slippers, Tom must track down the missing prince. During this adventure, the Prince discovers the cruelty of poverty and learns compassion and the Pauper learns that money does not mean happiness and that freedom is more important than riches.
