The Mural
An Extraordinary story full of liveliness, desire and fury. In 1933 the painter David Alfaro Siqueiros, in exile from his native Mexico arrives in Buenos Aires to do an art exhibit and give lectures that are suspended on account of their Marxist-Leninist content, in a city and at a time of rampant Nationalism. Natalio Botana, the powerful “Critica” newspaper tycoon, commissions the painting of a mural in the basement of his country home. Meanwhile, in the mansion a romance ensues Siqueiros’ wife. Botana’s wife, in a fit of jealously and resentment, takes revenge promoting a tragic clash with her elder son.
