The Movie of My Life
Based on a novel "A Distant Father" by Antonio Skármeta, author of from "Il Postino," The Movie of My Life takes place in 1963 Brazil. The son of an French man and a Brazilian woman, Tony is captivated by cinema and poetry. After graduating from college he returns to his hometown to find out that his father has left for good. Tony turns to his father's friends, searching for information about his lost father. He becomes a school teacher and a defacto father figure to the school children. As he provides them with something he has lacked, he uncovers a lead on his own father's whereabouts and his reasons for leaving.
