The Monkey King Caused Havoc in Dragon Palace
In a world ravaged by drought, the residents of the mountain village of Huaguo suffer greatly. One of the few villages in the world in possession of a still-flowing source of water, the people of Huaguo are constantly harassed by powerful monsters who wish to claim the water as their own. Realizing the dire situation his people are in, Sun Wu Kong (Louis Fan) and his good friend, Chi Kao Ma (Du Yu Feng), set out to investigate the cause of the drought and search for a weapon powerful enough to fight off the endless waves of monsters. As the two make their way across the world, they agree that the best way to find a suitable weapon would be to participate in the East Sea’s Treasure Competition. Making their way to the Dragon Palace, the pair of friends unwittingly uncover an evil plot to destroy the human world. Soon caught up in a deadly palace intrigue, Wu Kong and Kao Ma’s only chance of survival rests in the small but capable hands of the Little Dragon Princess (Zhu Li Lan). With the fate of the world hanging in the balance, Wu Kong must find a weapon strong enough to defeat the evil dragon, Ao Luan (Shane Li), or die trying. But does such a weapon even exist and if it does, where might it be hiding? Inspired by the writings of Wu Cheng En, “Monkey King: Uproar in Dragon Palace” is a 2019 martial arts fantasy film directed by Chen Zhi Hong.
