In 1961 a thirty-one-year-old Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy stepped foot into the White House and adopted the honourable role of America’s First Lady. Jacqueline, also known as Jackie, was the beautiful and stylish wife of the 35th president of the United States. John F. Kennedy. She had a great appreciation for the arts and had a well-defined background, studying literature, history, and French. The young stylish Jackie would draw crowds; all eyes were on her. It was apparent Jackie was becoming more than just the President’s wife. Jackie was becoming an icon. She had strong cultural ties and was a public role model for young women across America. Her strong opinions regarding the preservation of history and her drive for knowledge would path the way for her later successful career. She was America’s, First Lady.
