Amid the mountains of Columbia, a group of children and their families have tried to live peacefully despite the civil war occurring in the surrounding area. Manuel dreams of one day becoming a professional goalkeeper and as such values his soccer ball above all other possessions. When the ball gets kicked into a minefield, the school children attempt to retrieve the ball at their own peril. A metaphor for the impact combat has had upon their otherwise sheltered existence, this film by Carlos César Arbeláez proves a poignant tale about life on the soccer field and life on the battlefield.
