Street Boss
When David Goldberg fired his long time friend Jimmy Callone, he never thought that it would come to this. Sitting across from him in his own house was Tony Jack. He knew he was Jimmy's uncle, but what was he doing here? He'd heard the rumors, he killed Hoffa, he was a mobster, ruthless and greedy. By the time Tony Jack left his home, it was clear. There was a price on Goldberg's head, “pay $100,000 or die.” Goldberg, not trusting anyone, tries to deal with it on his own. His daughter, sensing trouble, goes to the FBI. When troubled FBI agent Phil Kerby was transferred to Saginaw, Michigan, he didn't realize the Bureau was nothing like the Bureau he left in Ohio. It was filled with corrupt and lazy agents. Phil discovers that this isn’t Tony Jack's first extortion. The police are afraid of his thugs, the FBI is uninterested, and the corruption runs deep. Phil befriends FBI Agent Paul Miller, a clumsy cop demoted for accidentally shooting his own partner and a young do-gooder cop (Deputy Holmes) who has the heart of gold, but not the nerves. Together, using undercover agents, surveillance, and snitches, they investigate and discover that Tony Jack is not only running Saginaw, but he has extortion, fraud, gambling rings, and if the competition gets too close, he eliminates them. When an FBI snitch blows the whistle on Phil’s investigation, he is left to confront the mafia alone. Using his anger and instincts, the two things that got him in trouble in the first place, Phil bullies and brings down the people that have held Saginaw hostage for years. Tony Jack’s associates and partners crumble around him, justice is brought back to the city of Saginaw, and a family is saved. Street Boss follows the true story of FBI agent Phil Kerby's quest to bring down one of Detroit's most notorious mobsters and save David Goldberg's family.
