Stadium Anthems
The dark comedy feature Stadium Anthems holds a mirror to the post-Weinstein world in its savage satire of sexist executives and the women forced to navigate their environments. Shot as a mockumentary, Stadium Anthems is built on today's post-Napster music business. Dragon Chaser Records is a male-run HR nightmare, oblivious to law and paradigm shifts within the music industry. President Jim Strong sleeps with assistants. Talent man Pete Barnacle won't scout bands. And aging rock god Warren Paradise - the label's sole source of revenue - has long traded artistic credibility for vapid songs and vacant sex. As the adolescent males of Stadium Anthems meet their twisted comeuppances, they yield to the film's feminist arc: Pete's chance encounter with bartender Heroine Jones reawakens in him the purity of intention in creating art beyond its status as a commodity. Only through Heroine can the label misfits seek redemption. Which begs of the audience...can such men ever really be redeemed?
