Sharpshooter
Rural America becomes the bucolic setting for a mysterious terrorist plot gone awry, a romance undone by betrayal, and a government assignment that signals a dangerous conspiracy. Dillon (James Remar, Sex and the City) is a seasoned Special Ops sniper and ex-navy SEAL, looking for a hard-earned retirement and the quiet life. Then Flick (Mario Van Peebles, New Jack City), his government contact, offers him one last mission of utmost importance to national security. A well-know terrorist, Miguel Deguerre, has settled in small-town USA with plans to sell nuclear materials to North Korea. He must be stopped. Caving under pressure, Dillon takes off for Appleton, where Deguerre owns a sprawling lakeside estate. Posing as a lawyer on a fishing respite, Dillon is immediately taken with a young waitress, Amy, who provides the undercover agent with a little personal distraction. After planting hidden cameras around Deguerre’s lakeside home and scoping out a drug deal in process, Dillon begins to question the validity of this mission—almost as quickly as Appleton’s Sheriff Gardner (Bruce Boxleitner, Babylon 5) becomes suspicious of Dillon’s presumed identity. When Dillon’s plan to infiltrate a party at Deguerre’s estate is thwarted by Deguerre’s henchmen, Dillon flees into the woods. But the chase is far from over. He’s gotten word that Flick has arrived in Appleton with a trio of professional killers. Now, from Amy’s cunning seduction to the sheriff’s shadowy pursuit, to being set upon by Flick’s men, Dillon wonders which one has a set a trap for him—and why. Sharpshooter takes aim—as an action-packed thriller that scopes out danger in the most unusual places. This one guarantees to hit its target audience dead on.
