Roogie's Bump
This engaging sports drama features the real-life 1954 Brooklyn Dodgers baseball team and was partially shot at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn. Poor Roogie Rigsby is the new boy in town and the butt of all the local kids' jokes. They won't even let him join their baseball games. But a strange, magical thing happens when the ghost of a late, great Brooklyn Dodger descends and gives him a bump on the arm that gives Roogie the ability to pitch better than anyone in the world. With such amazing speed, strength, and accuracy, Roogie is soon pitching for the Dodgers alongside such greats as Roy Campanella, Carl Erskine, Billy Loes, and Russ Meyer (who star as themselves). But on the day of a big game, tragedy threatens to shatter Roogie's dream.
