Academy Award, Emmy and Golden Globe-winner Joanne Woodward (TV's "Empire Falls" miniseries, "Sybil") was nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for her portrayal of a frustrated schoolteacher in this beautifully sensitive, mature film about a lonely woman who tries to come out of her shell.
