My uncle Antoine

At the end of the 1940s, the population of a small Quebec mining town gathers on Christmas Eve at the general store of Antoine, who's also an undertaker, to shop and exchange gossips and drinks. Benoît, a 15-year old orphan who is Antoine's nephew and clerk, watches them with amusement indulge in a few hours of carefreeness. But when he has to accompany his tipsy uncle to pick up the body of a young man in a poor family, Benoît discovers the true nature of adults, sometimes made up of lies and cowardice.
