Monsoon

In the hot desert monsoon season of Arizona, best friends John and Sarah have trouble letting go of each other after a tragedy rips them apart. John recovers from his physical injuries in time. However, the emotional scar of losing his best friend leaves him feeling lost and alone. He eventually begins to open up again by talking to...Sarah. He is prodded by his no-nonsense grandmother, Gale, to move on. John does the opposite - he defers from school for a year and closes himself off to all but Sarah. John's mood doesn't change much until he meets his new co-worker, Caitlyn. He eventually finds himself at a crossroads, unsure of what he wants. Sarah and Gale remind him of his academic aspirations, but he also enjoys Caitlyn's carefree lifestyle. John slowly begins letting go, knowing that he must leave, and must also finally say goodbye to his image of Sarah.
