Max Richter on Making "Sleep" in Spatial Audio
Available on Music
Back in 2015, Max Richter noticed a collective inability to switch off in an ever busy and connected world. And so he wrote Sleep, an extraordinary eight-hour opus designed to lull us into sleep—and hold us there until dawn. In this short film, the composer and pianist looks back on its creation, including how he worked with a neuroscientist to study the science of sleep, and reflects on how Spatial Audio renders his groundbreaking work even more rest-inducing.
