Lost Lake

After TRICIA has a terrible nightmare about her missing uncle, she and her fiancé, JEFF, decide to try to find him. The couple drives to the remote town of Lost Lake, CA deep in the Mojave Desert only to discover it is completely deserted. Just when they are about to give up their search, they run into UNCLE VERN in an abandoned café. Vern is ghost hunting and believes he’s on the brink of a great discovery. He asks Jeff and Tricia to stay and help him film a spirit that haunts the town. Tricia, who believes in ghosts, only reluctantly agrees, while Jeff, skeptical of the supernatural, eagerly takes up the task. While filming in an abandoned grocery store, Jeff encounters what he feels is the spirit. Freaked out, he and Tricia run to Vern and tell him that they have to leave. But, Uncle Vern weeps and begs them not to go. When they insist and leave him, an odd change comes over Vern, and he falls under the power of the ghost. Upon returning to their car, Jeff and Tricia find Vern has removed the sparkplugs. Angry, Tricia demands he give them back. But, driven by the evil now inside him, Vern uses a machete to slice off one of Tricia’s fingers. Jeff and Tricia run from the possessed and dangerous Uncle Vern. As he gives chase, they must use all their strength and wits to try and stay alive.
